FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES
The Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) program of
the Hopkins County/Texas Agricultural Extension Service provides
educational programs that build individual and family capacity for
self-sufficiency, problem prevention, stability and economic security.
A variety of programs help educate citizens to take more responsibility
for improving their health, safety, productivity and well being.

Community Economic Development
This department of the Hopkins County Extension Service targets
educational development of all community resources and economic
viability.
Improved business management, commercial and small business development,
job creation and local government support of the focus.
Agents assist with the plans of the Amphitheater at Cooper Lake
through work with the South Sulphur Regional Development Association.
This project will bring tourism monies and jobs for local citizens.
Fall Festival activities are co-ordinated through the local Extension
Service office year round and economic development opportunities
through cooperation of the local Chamber of Commerce.
