Hopkins County Dispatch
We are the Emergency Communications Division for the
entire County of Hopkins. We handle all 911 calls for the entire
County of Hopkins. We handle all 911 calls for the county residences
and dispatch all county Law Enforcement and Fire Departments. We
answer and then transfer 911 medical calls to Hopkins County EMS.
Our department currently utilizes Powerphone dispatch system for
law and fire emergencies. This is a card set that has set nature
types for various emergencies which allow us to gather emergency
information and prioritize calls and give complaintants information
on what to do to increase their safety and to help in solving the
problem at hand.
Our Office dispatches for 12 Volunteer Fire Departments
and 1 Paid County Fire Department and then also the County Sheriffs
Office consisting of 18 Officers, 4 Criminal Investigations Officers,
1 Chief Deputy and, of course, Sheriff Butch Adams. Additionally,
we dispatch for the local municipalities of Cumby and Como which
have part time patrol officers.

Our office processes all 911 calls, non-emergency
calls, radio traffic, TCIC/NCIC inquiries - entries, fire department
traffice, running jail and criminal case paperwork for various agencies,
warrant file entries and confirmations and file maintenance on all
stolen/missing entries. We run a shift of one dispatcher on 8 hour
shifts 6-2, 2-10 and 10-6 seven days a week.
